Checking out the Settings!

The blog is set up to allow multiple authors so this is my first contribution.
I probably won't have much to add but it might be useful!
(Hmm I still seem to be posting as 'Coastal Walker'. Must see if I can fix that.) - update: Done!

  1. Hi Pete,
I'm looking to walk the South West Coast path for charity also in September, and was just wondering what accommodation you will be using? I'm just trying to decide the best way of doing it, ideally I don't want to carry a tent but it's looking that way...
    thanks for any advice

  2. Hi Verity
Sorry for not responding sooner - we've all be very busy recently.
Yes, I know what you mean about the accommodation problem. There seems to be large sections of the path where there is no accommodation without having to walk a considerable distance off the route - not a lot of fun after a long days hike!
To get around this Pete has arranged to have motorhome support wherever possible. I know this probably doesn't help you except to confirm that we have looked into the accommodation issue and came to the same conclusion as yourself - it's not really possible to walk from B+B to B+B all the way round.
Please drop into the blog while Pete is on the walk and hopefully he'll be able to answer your questions from a more first hand viewpoint.

    Hope your trip goes well!

  3. Hi Steve,

Thanks for your reply, I've only just been back on the blog and seen it! Ah yes a motorhome seems like a great idea, I read the Spud Talbot-Ponsonby book where she has one on hand all the way around the coast of Britain and it seemed a good plan.

I'm resigned to the fact I am going to have to carry everything and camp, but hopefully travel very light and probably check into the odd B & B to recover!

Good luck to Pete for his walk!
